NaanDan Jain Irrigation opens subsidiary in Lima, Peru

Peru’s Ministry of Agriculture Sends Water Management Delegation to Israel

Kibbutz Naan, Israel - June 23, 2008 – NaanDan Jain Irrigation Ltd. recently opened a subsidiary in Lima, Peru, to reply to the growing technology demands of Peru’s agriculture. Mr. Daniel Flexer was nominated General Manager of the subsidiary and reports directly to the company’s management in Israel. A team of NaanDan Jain experts supports the quickly growing needs of farmers in Peru to improve irrigation technologies, crop management and agricultural projects of various sizes.

Israel’s agricultural technologies have recently drawn broad interest in Peru. Engineer Ismail Ben Avides, Peru’s minister of agriculture, visited Israel in 2007. Impressed by Israel’s high level of water management and agro-technological know-how, Ben Avides organized and sponsored a delegation of 15 water management professionals from Peru’s water management association to tour Israel.

NaanDan Jain organized and hosted a visit of the water management experts on a one-day tour to the North of Israel. Additional companies manufacturing complementary products to the irrigation systems of NaanDan Jain participated and co-hosted the tour: Bermad Control Valves, Amiad Filtration Systems, Talgil Computing and Control and ARI Air Valves. The tour included visits to pumping and filtering stations and crop growth projects with modern irrigation systems. At a round table discussion in Kibbutz Dan, the northern branch of NaanDan Jain, each of the participating companies presented its products, followed by project presentations of the water management delegates from Peru.

NaanDan Jain Irrigation Ltd., a global irrigation company, provides technological leadership with the widest range of cost-efficient and tailor-made solutions. With over 70 years of experience in working with farmers, we offer top quality products that deliver higher productivity per unit of resources. Our expertise helps our customers to achieve higher crop yields, lower risks, and save precious resources.

$3.5 Million order from NaanDan Jain to Supply Turnkey Irrigation Solution to  Government-Funded Projects in Kazakhstan.

The two projects will span 850 hectars *** NaanDan Jain CEO, Avner Hermoni: "Kazakhstan has tremendous potential for intensive development of sophisticated agro-technical agriculture" *** In 2009, the company continues to successfully penetrate CIS countries with large-scale projects *** In light of NaanDan Jain's technological investments, the company expects sales growth in 2009

Kibbutz Naan, April 7, 2009 – NaanDan Jain Irrigation Ltd. (NaanDan Jain), a global technological leader for irrigation solutions, announced that it has received a large-scale order for USD 3.5 million from Kazakhstan for two separate projects. The projects are financed by a national holding company of the Kazakhstan Ministry of Finance, which supports the realization of agro-industrial projects.

NaanDan Jain will provide a full irrigation solution to the two projects in Southern Kazakhstan:

The first: A 700 hectar area of processing tomatoes, which will be irrigated by the recently announced TAL, an innovative thin-walled dripline equipped with advanced labyrinth dripper. This high-quality, low-cost dripline provides maximum durability, accuracy and clog resistance and suits seasonal, annual and multi-seasonal row crops.

The second: A 150 hectar apple orchard project, to which NaanDan Jain supplies the innovative pressure-compensated, non-drainage PC dripline.

"We are giving special attention to CIS countries" states NaanDan Jain CEO, Avner Hermoni: "Kazakhstan has tremendous potential for intensive development of sophisticated agro-technical agriculture. Driven by modernization and growing demand for locally-grown vegetables and fruits, the government is investing heavily in the infrastructure that supports the technological move from flood to low-volume irrigation. These projects are door-openers for many more NaanDan Jain projects in this area."

A delegation from Kazakhstan has recently visited NaanDan Jain's Israel Headquarters to inspect the production capabilities for this and future projects.

In 2008, as part of NaanDan Jain's union with Indian Jain Irrigation, the company invested $12.5 million in enhancing its manufacturing capabilities around the world. NaanDan Jain has recently unveiled some of the worlds' fastest and most advanced pipeline machines. This investment makes NaanDan Jain ready to face the global financial situation. As a result, the company expects growth in sales in 2009.

NaanDanJain establishes a subsidiary in Romania to introduce advanced agro-technologies for commercial vegetable production.

The subsidiary in Romania has already entered into an agreement for a potato production project on 60 hectares, amounting to EUR 150,000 *** Romania, which to date has imported its vegetables, presents an exceptional business opportunity for irrigation and agriculture *** Also: NaanDanJain's production plant in Spain manufactures 274 km of irrigation lines a day

NaanDanJain, an international water and irrigation technology company, has established a fully-owned subsidiary in Romania. Until recently, there has been almost no commercial vegetable production in Romania and most produce is imported. Following accession to the European Union, Romania has started to grow vegetables on a commercial scale. NaanDanJain has undertaken to work with European foundations to raise the level of agriculture to EU standards.

The subsidiary in Romania has already entered into an agreement for potato production on 60 hectares, amounting to EUR 150,000. NaanDanJain will install a sprinkler system designed especially for potato production. This system contributes to high-quality yields, producing results which are superior to those achieved under conventional systems, and in some cases, even exceed results achieved under drip irrigation systems.

Amir Bar, manager of NaanDanJain Europe: “Establishment of the company in Romania is a significant breakthrough for NaanDanJain in developing European countries. Despite the ongoing financial crisis, we have positioned ourselves firmly in Europe through four wholly-owned subsidiaries. The crisis has affected all irrigation companies in Europe, however, despite the difficulties in the sector, our sales are stable and we have even increased our market share, particularly in Spain, where we are involved in several turnkey projects”.

The company reports on significant growth in operations in the production plant in Spain, which manufactures advanced irrigation systems for all European countries. The production plant covers 10,000 square meters and includes facilities for production of diverse irrigation lines, with an annual capacity of 100 million meters, in other words, a daily average of 274 kilometers.

Notwithstanding the global economic crisis, NaanDanJain has increased its export potential from Israel and the operations of its international subsidiaries. This is the result of an investment of NIS 100 million in R&D, acquisition of new equipment, strategic international expansion in India, Latin America and CIS countries, and the addition of dozens of employees to the workforce.
